by Masa Kennedy Gueh of Norcross, Georgia
I was inspired by God to establish an orphanage for the Liberian children who have been through 14 years of bloody civil war which ended only 5 short years ago. I made a vow to God, that after my older children were dispersed in the war, that if He saved me and two of my other smallest children, I would go back to Liberia to build an orphanage. The Lord honored my prayers and we were saved. I went back to Liberia, West Africa to visit and fulfill my vow to God. Five acres of land were purchased for the purpose of building the children a shelter, a school, and a clinic.
I am seeking others to join me in my vision and would welcome your contributions greatly. I have been doing this on my own since 2006 and, at this time, have 43 children staying in my house in Liberia with seven male volunteers who stay on the campus as protectors and workers, and four ladies who cook, clean and care for the children. As you can see this is a very large number of people to put up in a 4-bedroom house even with a big living room. Children are sleeping everywhere on the floor. We need to finish the school and dormitories as quickly as possible and need help in order to make this happen.
These needy kids are the least represented and are the poorest of the poor who survived the 14 years of war. There are hundreds more orphaned children who are hurting, starving, sick and homeless, living under doorsteps and any place they can find a semi-dry spot. Your help is urgently needed.
Sincerely,
Masa K. Gueh
